Time-resolved reflectance of an optical pulse in adult head models including non-scattering cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) has been analyzed by the finite difference time domain (FDTD) analysis formulated by the authors. Averaged light intensity and mean time of flight dependences on the source-detector separations calculated by the FDTD analysis are in good agreement with previous experiments, hybrid finite element method (FEM) and Monte Carlo calculations, which justify the FDTD analysis. Based on the analysis, time-resolved reflectance sensitivities to detect optical property changes in brain have been analyzed. As a result, it has been become clear that the sensitivities to detect absorption changes of brain are enhanced in time-resolved reflectance compared to the sensitivities in averaged light intensity, whereas the sensitivities to detect scattering property changes of brain are almost the same in time-resolved reflectance and in averaged light intensity. © 2005 The Optical Society of Japan  相似文献

In this paper we have reported the solvent and rotational relaxation of 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([bmim][PF6]) confined in tween 20/([bmim][PF6]/water microemulsion using coumarin 153 (C-153) as probe. The most interesting feature of our experiment was that we observed an increase in solvent relaxation time with increase in R (R = tween 20-to-[bmim][PF6] molar ratio). This is due to the fact that with increase in [bmim][PF6] content of the microemulsions, the microviscosity of the pool of the microemulsions increases, and motion of ions of [bmim][PF6] is hindered in the pool of microemulsions. Since motion of ions is responsible for solvation in room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs), solvent-relaxation time increases with increase in R.  相似文献

基于LiF∶F2晶体在近红外飞秒脉冲激光作用下产生F2色心向F3 色心的转变,以及两种色心荧光光谱的不同,实现了荧光反射共焦读出和多光子写入的三维光数据存储的原理性实验.钛宝石再生放大器输出的脉冲宽度100fs、中心波长800nm、重复频率1kHz的超短脉冲激光束,用数值孔径0.68的显微物镜聚焦到LiF:F2晶体内部,通过移动晶体实现了三维逐位式数据写入;用405nm的连续蓝光激发存储位,通过探测F3 色心产生的540nm荧光,实现了对信息位进行快速非破坏性的反射共焦读出.与多光子三维存储的透射共焦散射读出和相衬读出相比,格式与现存光盘技术兼容,结构简单;更重要的是,存储信息位是依靠荧光光谱的变化,折射率变化很小,可以有效增加读出层数.  相似文献

The production of nanoparticles via femtosecond laser ablation of gold and copper is investigated experimentally involving measurements of the ablated mass, plasma diagnostics, and analysis of the nanoparticle size distribution. The targets were irradiated under vacuum with a spot of uniform energy distribution. Only a few laser pulses were applied to each irradiation site to make sure that the plume expansion dynamics were not altered by the depth of the laser-produced crater. Under these conditions, the size distribution of nanoparticles does not exhibit a maximum and the particle abundance monotonously decreases with size. Furthermore, the results indicate that two populations of nanoparticles exist within the plume: small clusters that are more abundant in the fast frontal plume component and larger particles that are located mostly at the back. It is shown that the ablation efficiency is strongly related to the presence of nanoparticles in the plume.  相似文献

Laser drilling is one of the basic, most frequently performed, material removal processes. The drilling aspect ratio is theoretically limited by the size and the focal depth of the machining laser spot. The aspect ratio can be improved by using dual focus. In this paper we describe a focus of two different frequencies based on the longitudinal chromatic aberration arisen when polychromatic collimated light is incident on a positive lens element. In the experiments, a Ti:Sapphire laser of 800 nm wavelength and 150 fs pulse duration was used as a source. Two tightly focused laser spots few hundred micrometers apart from each other were formed by focusing a combined collimated laser beam which contains the fundamental optic frequency and the second harmonic optic frequency. The focus of dual-frequency beam was used to drill a 3 mm thick PMMA plate. The drilling aspect ratio of a dual-frequency beam was compared to that of a focus of single frequency beam. Experimental results reveal that dual-frequency beam increases the aspect ratio and improves the drilling quality in terms of profile of the produced features.  相似文献

Absorption coefficient measurements of strongly scattering and weakly absorbing media have been performed using time resolved transmittance of a 100 fs pulse through a 30 mm slab containing latex spheres suspended in water and absorbing ink solutions. The scattering and absorption coefficients were selected so that the optical properties of the media were similar to those of biological tissues. Measured curves of time-resolved transmittance of the pulse through the media were used to estimate the optical properties of the media. The experiment was made at two different wavelengths, 784 nm and 810 nm. We measured the wavelength-dependent intensity decays of 4,9-dihydro-4,6-dimethyl-9-oxo-1H-imidazo-1,2a-purine (Yt-base) in propanol to determine the time-resolved emission spectra and rates of spectral relaxation. We found that resolution of the spectral relaxation times was dramatically improved by global analysis of the frequency-domain data with increasing amounts of the collisional quencher CCl4. Collisional quenching preferentially decreases the longer-lived relaxed component of the emission, thereby increasing the fractional contribution of the incompletely relaxed portion of the emission. The data could not be explained by a single spectral relaxation time, and at least two relaxation times are needed to describe the time-dependent emission center of gravity of Yt-base.Dedicated to Professor Stefan Paszyc on the occasion of his 70th birthday.  相似文献
